Miriam Nelson
Program Coordinator at Arizona Water for All
Miriam Nelson stepped into the role of Program Coordinator for Arizona Water for All, based in Flagstaff. She holds a dual B.A. in Environmental Studies and Political Science from the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University. Miriam recently completed her M.A. in Anthropology at Northern Arizona University, with study emphases on the human dimensions of natural resources, disasters, conservation mechanisms, and water use. Her previous work includes community-based research projects employing mixed methods, spearheading local outreach initiatives, organizing stakeholder meetings, and contributing to the launch of AW4A at NAU. She is passionate about building collaborative, cross-cultural partnerships to address water insecurity and environmental justice across Arizona's diverse communities. In her position, Miriam will support community-engaged water access initiatives across Northern Arizona, collaborating closely with Dr. Lucero Radonic (NAU). Miriam looks forward to playing a key role in strengthening connections between community stakeholders, academic partners, and agencies involved in AW4A's mission to improve equitable water access throughout the state.
