Lucero Radonic

Associate Professor of Anthropology and Director of the Water, Society, Policy Lab at Northern Arizona University

Dr. Lucero Radonic is an Associate Professor of Anthropology at Northern Arizona University and an applied environmental anthropologist specializing in water governance, infrastructure, and climate adaptation. Her research examines how communities navigate water security challenges at the intersection of climate change, urbanization, and socio-environmental justice across the U.S. Southwest and Latin America. As Director of NAU’s Water, Society and Policy Lab, she advances participatory research that centers community experience, Indigenous water sovereignty, and equitable water policy.

Dr. Radonic plays a key leadership role in the Arizona Water for All Network to address water insecurity through university–community partnerships. As NAU’s principal investigator, she guides collaborative research with rural, tribal, and urban communities to identify water access challenges and co-develop sustainable solutions. Her scholarship, widely cited and supported by NSF and other agencies, integrates rigorous ethnographic methods with practical policy applications to promote just and resilient water futures.
