Living Off The Grid: Examining Household Water Access in Water Haul Areas
This project, led by Dr. Lucero Radonic at Northern Arizona, aims to better understand residential experiences with private water provisioning and different perspectives on water security in non-tribal water haul areas of Coconino County. The team is exploring the connections between rural household water security, groundwater policy, and environmental change across Coconino County through household-level interviews in areas with absent or limited centralized water delivery infrastructure. The findings of this project will be used to identify trends in water hauling experience, assess the needs of households in water hauling areas, and look for solutions to help advance water security for off-grid areas. The NAU team welcomes inquiries from those interested in learning more.
