Water Quality

Why test your drinking water?

Testing your drinking water is important because it helps keep you and your family safe. Your water can look clear and taste fine, but it may still contain harmful substances we cannot see, smell, or taste.

Private Water Sources:

Testing lets us find out whether anything harmful is present. This is especially important for private wells, which are not checked by the city or county.

Germs

Bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms can cause stomach illness

Protect Vulnerable Groups:

Regular testing helps ensure our water is safe for everyone—especially babies, children, and older adults, who can be more sensitive to water quality issues.

Chemicals

Like lead or pesticides that may come from factories, farms, or old pipes, can cause health problems if people drink them for a long time

Trusted Testing:

Arizona Water for All partners with ASU’s Biodesign Institute to do this testing. This is a university (non-EPA-certified) lab that follows rigorous scientific protocols to test your water
