Community-based collaborative research on water insecurity (e.g., community dialogues (platicas) on food and water insecurity)

This initiative is led by Dr. Carney at the University of Arizona and is being implemented in partnership with community-based organizations throughout southern Arizona with the goal of improving understanding of how residents experience and perceive water insecurity alongside other forms of resource insecurity in the borderlands region through a series of community dialogues/pláticas. Findings are being used to identify key challenges to water security for local residents, assess resource needs of households and communities, and co-develop solutions to advance and strengthen regional water security. The UA team welcomes inquiries from potential community-based partners and others interested in learning more.
